VIDEO: Members of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Brooklyn hold annual walking event to bring attention to small things we can do to improve overall health

What's The 411's producer, Ruth J. Morrison, spoke with members of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church's Temple Ministry as they were making preparations for its annual walk-a-thon. The event was held at Herbert Von King Park in the heart of Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn.

VIDEO: Reading and storytelling to make a difference in the lives of children

On a cold wintry Saturday morning, there was a ReadVolution going on at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and the George H. Murray Preparatory Academy in Brooklyn, NY, where members of the Brooklyn community came together to read to children.

Reverend Kirby Spivey III, Summer Spivey, Mary Brooks, and Tammy Hall discussed why reading to children at an early age is important. The video also features young kids discussing their favorite books, and in some cases, their favorite book was their first book.

Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church is led by Reverend Dr. Johnny Ray Youngblood.
