Murder of Cecil the Lion Raises Many Issues About Priorities

First, black people driving, walking, running, or trying to sell loose cigarettes are in danger of catching a bad one.

Now, the lions?

Buzzfeed and every other news outlet are reporting that Cecil, Zimbabwe's prized black mane lion, got smoked by an American poacher! Who's next? An African just ain't safe around gunpowder!

Now, Cecil's brother, Jericho, is watching the cubs. Jericho, I advise you to file a wrongful death lawsuit!

Although the above rhetoric is stated tongue-in-cheek, the What's The 411 panel is concerned about the slaughter of living animals, particularly those that are in a protected class.

On another note, the public outrage over the murder of Cecil the lion has many black people concerned that juxtaposed to the numerous innocent black people being murdered by police, the murder of animals garner more sympathy than people.

Filmmaker Spike Lee helps Amazon Studios' pioneering effort into movie business

Amazon Studios says it has acquired Spike Lee's new film as its first Amazon original movie.

The film, with the working title "Chi-Raq," features a cast including Nick Cannon, Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Hudson, Teyonah Parris, D.B. Sweeney, Harry Lennix, Steve Harris, Angela Bassett, John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson.

Amazon Studios' Ted Hope said, "it would be impossible to find a better filmmaker" than Lee to launch the studio with."

Texas Businesswoman Sandra Bland Dies in Police Custody

Stories like this are on rewind! A 27-year-old college graduate, Sandra Bland was on her way to her new job in Texas when she was pulled over by Hempstead, Texas police for failing to signal when changing lanes. Video surfaced from the traffic stop showing a police officer slamming Sandra Bland to the ground while another officer held her down as well. The officers claimed she was combative which required them to get physical.

However, according to the video recorded by a witness, Bland doesn't appear combative but is heard yelling that they slammed her head into the ground so hard she couldn't hear! What's worse is that they threw her in jail and three days later she was dead. The county sheriff claims she died of suicide by asphyxiation...but this is the same sheriff who was fired from his post as Chief of Police in Hempstead, Texas in 2007 for racism and abuse against black people!

Why was he allowed back into law enforcement at all?

Is singer Ciara's moving on with new beau making Future's blood boil?

It seems like rapper Future is having a little trouble with singer Ciara moving on with her life. When Future was asked about photos showing Ciara's new man, NFL Super Bowl-winning quarterback, Russell Wilson, pushing little Future in a stroller, the rapper voiced his disapproval.

"You don't even bring a man around your son," he shared on the breakfast club. "You know this dude for a few months and you're bringing him around your kid? Who does that? Nobody does that."

Is Future right? Is it too soon for Ciara to expose her son to a new man in her life?
