Jim Carrey Fighting Ex-Girlfriend’s Family’s Wrongful Death Suit

Jim Carrey plans to defend himself against the wrongful death and STD complaint filed by the family of his ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White

Comedian Jim Carrey is not giving in to the legal complaints brought by the family of his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White. The mother, Brigid Sweetman, and Mark Burton, the estranged husband of Ms. White contend that Carrey had illegally obtained “highly addictive and, in this case, deadly” drugs under the name Arthur King, which Ms. White used to take her own life and which Carrey provided to her despite knowing that she had struggled with depression and attempted suicide in the past.

Additionally, a note to Carrey from his deceased girlfriend, Cat White, found on her iPad, shows she was furious and distraught over contracting sexually transmitted diseases from Carrey, according to the family.

Subsequent to finding the alleged note on Cat White’s iPad, Burton and Sweetman amended their complaint a few days after its original filing to allege that Carrey also gave White three STDs without informing her of the danger of transmission. According to the complaint, when White confronted Carrey about it, the comedian “manipulated her, shamed her, exploited her, threatened her, and used his handlers and attorneys to silence her.” Carrey has denied the allegations.

In the court of public opinion, Carrey may be joining the herpes club with Usher, another celebrity accused of transmitting herpes.

Kyle Knight: A Conscious Rapper on the Rise

Kyle Knight, an artist who is walking a path less traveled, knows what he wants and is working to get there

Kyle Knight, an up-and-coming hip-hop artist, stopped by the What’s The 411 studio for a wide-ranging interview with Keisha Wilson and to talk about his latest single, “Hey Sister”.

Dubbed a conscious rapper/lyricist, Knight equates conscious to life, and therefore, considers himself to be a life artist.

“The word conscious stands for the word life to which I am a life artist, a life rapper,” Knight stated. “I feel content and I feel strong and I feel confident enough to really work my niche, which is being a conscious artist. Now, I am not saying that everything I do is going to be conscious. There is going to be a lot of material that I write and things that I do. But, it is important that a young man such as myself comes out the gate right as an artist, in terms of songwriting, in terms of recording ability… that’s not to say I may not do something in today's radio type of feel, but where it is now, is really coming out the gate as strong as possible, as a life artist, as a conscious artist, conscious rapper.”

Knight’s father (David Knight) is also a musician; his production credits include a remix of SVW's (Right Here) and work with iconic rap legend Chuck D. Through his father’s influence and mentoring, Kyle got started in music at an early age. He also avoided “street pull” in his adolescent years because he found his individuality early and because he loved songwriting.

Fed on a wide variety of musical genres from classical leanings and influences like Motown to Nas, Michael Jackson, and Tupac; Kyle Knight's exposure to music broadened quickly. As his own interest in performing grew, so did his lessons on the gears and mechanics behind the craft. Areas of study included artist development, proper lyric writing, and artistry in recording vocals. Even his digging into the crates of old-school techniques became a foundation for his unique sound.

Knight, not concerned about going his own way, found inspiration when he traveled to Morocco and Ghana, two countries in Africa. What struck Knight most about Morocco and Ghana was the poverty, the history of the people, the music, and, of course, the people. This visit influenced Knight’s worldview and by extension, his perspective on life and songwriting.

Although just getting started as a professional, Knight sees in his future writing for other artists, expanding his song catalog, modeling street fashion with a GQ look, and acting in movies and TV, particularly street and activist roles.

You can stay in contact with Kyle Knight and purchase his latest single, “Hey Sister,” and his previous single, “The Truth” on his website, https://www.kyleknightmusic.com, and from there you can connect with him on social media.

R&G Innovator Terrell “T-Rex” Simon Talks Debut Album

VIDEO INTERVIEW: Terrell “T-Rex” Simon excited about debut album As the World Turns and upcoming performances at B.B. Kings and The Apollo

In this interview, R&G innovator, Terrell “T-Rex” Simon sat down with Onika McLean, co-host of What’s The 411 to talk about his new single, Let It Rain, off of his forthcoming album, As the World Turns. They also talked about the new music category, R&G; using music to create a street ministry, using the label R&G to create a new audience for Gospel Music; and how the church needs to meet people where they are.

Terrell Simon’s music career started in the church in Troy, New York. In 2003, Simon’s connections led him to platinum-selling singer-songwriter/producer Lyfe Jennings who took him on the road with his act. Simon began touring with such major artists as John Legend, Beyonce, Anthony Hamilton, and Musiq Soulchild. As a huge fan of Dave Hollister, coming up he adopted a similar sound, patterning his voice after the vocal sensation, and later touring with him as a backup singer. His TV appearances include Jimmy Kimmel, Good Morning America, David Letterman, Jay Leno, 106 & Park, and The Monique Show, among others. The pivotal moment in his career came when he appeared on MTV Unplugged with Neyo, which gained mass exposure for him.

After sharing stages with everyone including Wyclef Jean and Mario, Simon started managing Lyfe Jennings, and road-managing vocalist Shaliek while mentoring and developing him and other talents such as Day 26. In 2015, Simon teamed with artist, producer, and singer Lamar Casey who served as executive producer and co-wrote his debut album. Simon also teamed with Bernie Stevenson (Isyss, Kelly Rowland), who took his riveting raw vocals and created the soul-stirring track, In His Image, which set Simon's launch pad for a fresh start.

Terrell “T-Rex” Simon brings to the industry his own musical genre, 'R&G' for rhythm and gospel, which beautifully infuses his natural church boy upbringing with his love of Hip Hop. In His Image was in rotation at Music Choice and gained radio play daily. The song's immediate appeal pointed to a fast growing musical phenomenon (exampled by 100,000 Instagram followers to date), which laid the groundwork for Simon’s debut album, As The World Turns.

Terrell “T-Rex” Simon has recently performed for a BET Music Matters showcase in NY, opened up for Lyfe Jennings, Bobby V, and Keke Wyatt. This performance led to appearances at B.B. King's and The Apollo Theater.

Terrell “T-Rex” Simon’s music is available on every digital platform including Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, iHeart Radio, XM Satellite, and SoundCloud, with hard copy CDs available on Amazon.com.
